O teste de polaridade é feito para detectar se em um circuito elétrico de motor CC, existe algum polo invertido.
The polarity test is performed to detect if there is any inverted pole in a DC motor circuit

Como de hábito, nossos testes procuram envolver dispositivos bem simples para que o aluno possa realizá-lo gastando o mínimo possível em equipamentos.

As usual, our goal is show  you the most simple  and easy way to perform tests that involve simple devices, so that you can accomplish it by spending as little as possible in equipment

Este é um desses testes importantes, o qual você pode realizar de forma muito simples, 

So, this is one of these important tests that you can perform it in a very simple way

É um teste simples, mas de grande utilidade, pois, na montagem de um  motor ou gerador   CC, poderá ocorrer um erro de ligação das bobinas e um ou mais polos ficarem  invertidos.
It is a simple way, but very useful, because in the assembly of a DC motor or generator, an error may occur by an inverted a pole when you are performing the coils´s connections.
 
O teste é baseado no princiípio dos campos magnéticos que se atraem  ou se repelem.

This test is based on the magnetic fields

Equipamento necessário: 
The device you  need

Um suporte de madeira, uma cordoalha de algodão e um ímã

A wooden stand, one cotton cordage and a little piece of magnet
 

Como você verá a seguir, este é realmente um teste muito útil, o qual um dispositivo muito simples que você mesmo poderá construir.
As you will see forward, this is really a very useful test, and to performing it you need just  a very simple device  that you can build it by yourself

  
    Tenha em mãos:
     Have on your hand:

        Um imã com cerca de 3 x 0,5 x 0,5 cm
        Uma cordoalha de algodão ( barbante)
        Um suporte de madeira ou plastico de cerca de 12 x 1 x 1 cm
       A piece of magnet measuring about 30 mm length, 5 mm width and 5 mm
       thickness.
       A cotton cordage (string)
       A little piece of  plastic or wood measuring about 12 mm length, 10 mm width and
       10 mm thickness.
        
Amarre uma extremidade do barbante à extremidade do suporte de madeira  ou plástico.

Tie the end of the string to the end of the piece of wood or plastic.

Pinte a metade do imã na cor amarela e a outra na cor preta ou branca, ou quaisquer outras cores que melhor facilite a visualização.

Now you must paint half of the magnet in yellow  color and the other half in black color or white or any other color that best allow you the visualization.

Amarre a outra extremidade do barbante exatamente no centro do imã, onde as cores se unem.
Tie the other end of the string in the exact center of the magnet, where the colors come together.

Você já tem o dispositivo para realizar o teste de polaridade em motores de corrente contínua.
Now you have in your hand the the device for testing polarity in DC motors.

É simples, fácil, barato e de grande utilidade.   
It's simple, easy, cheap and very useful. 

Verificando a polaridade passo a passo:

Passo 1:
Step 1:
 
Injete uma tensão CC no circuito elétrico do motor ou gerador CC que está sendo testado.
Turn on the motor that you are performing the test, using a DC current

A  tensão deverá ser adequada  e suficientemente apropriada para provocar um campo magnético no núcleo das sapatas polares, conforme mostrado no desenho da figura acima.
The voltage should be as suitable as possible,  to make a magnetic field in the core of the pole shoes, as shown in figure drawing up

Passo 2: 
Step 2

Insira o dispositivo no centro do circuito e aproxime o imã da sapata polar.
Insert the device in the center of the circuit and approach the imam of the pole shoe.

Verifique qual o lado ( cor ) do imã foi atraido nessa sapata polar.
Check out which pole shoe of the magnet (color) was attracted

Passo 3:
Step 3
 
Aproxime o imã na sapata imediatamente próxima à direita e observe qual lado ( cor ) do imã foi atraído por essa outra sapata polar.
Bring  the magnet to the next right  pole and note which side (color) of the magnet was attracted.    


Conclusão:
Conclusion:
    
A polaridade estará correta se alternadamente o ímã for atraído por  um lado ( cor ) numa sapata polar e pelo outro lado ( cor ) na sapata polar próxima adejacente.
The polarity will be correct if the magnet is alternately attracted to one side (color) in a pole shoe and the other side (color) in the next  pole shoe. 

Se não houver essa constante alternância de lados/ cores, há erros de polaridade. 
If there isn't this constant switching, there are polarity errors.
 
Nesse caso, verifique o circuito, cheque as ligações e corrija o problema.
In this case, check the circuit, check the connections and correct the problem
